SWAT REPORT # 139 03-10-2010

Romans 13:3 For rulers are not a terror to good works, but to the evil. Wilt thou then not be afraid of the power? do that which is good, and thou shalt have praise of the same:
Romans 13:4 For he is the minister of God to thee for good. But if thou do that which is evil, be afraid; for he beareth not the sword in vain: for he is the minister of God, a revenger to execute wrath upon him that doeth evil.

PRAY… CRIME MAY YET PAY
This would never happen in America

We moved into this new house the first week in November, 2009. In the process of moving before we actually were staying overnight, we had a break-in and several items were stolen. They took an American 110 volt DVD player with VHS player attached. They took Mary's violin and Robin's flute. No one ever wants a violation of their home or possessions taken but this was nothing that really rattled our lives. One item missing was very sentimental…the thieves stole a decorative sword that hangs on the wall. This was awarded to me by my peers…the street preachers of America just before we left to serve in Romania. See photo #139.01. We did grieve over this loss but still nothing to lose your salvation over. We half-heartedly and with zero faith of retrieving the stolen items, called the police and they came and took fingerprints. Three months went by and the police in the community we live in named Sacele called and said they had caught the thieves and that we could come and get our stuff. We were amazed. All items were returned and all in good order. During the course of all the paperwork the chief of police in Sacele and I became very close. He would greet me with a smile and hug. See photo #139.02. The other officers were unusually friendly and helpful as well so I wrote a letter congratulating them to the national government. In all of this I have been able to establish myself as a minister of the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ with tracts all around. We were happy with the total outcome but it just seemed like the Lord was throwing wide open a door to minister in this community by giving me such rapport with such important men. I must interject something here…you remember we asked you to pray about opening up a prison ministry for us here….well, today the police called me and asked if I could come and finalize the paperwork in this case. When I entered the office three high-ranking officers greeted me like I was an old high school buddy. When I sat down I noticed three teens sitting across the room. One officer told me these were the offenders who had broken into my home and stolen the goods. They sat handcuffed to one another so I shook their hands warmly and smiled with a warm greeting. This stymied them. I asked the officer if I could give them something and this request stymied the officers in the room. I ran back to my van and got New Testaments and tracts and gave them to all the offenders and officers in the room. They had stolen many other things from many others and if they are convicted, and they have already confessed, they will get 5 years in prison. Guess what prison…right…the one we have been trying to get into. I told them that it was likely that I would be preaching there and asked if they would attend. They agreed eagerly. So now when we get into the prison we already have three committed to attend our services. HALLELUJAH!!!!!! What a Saviour. PLEASE, PLEASE PLEASE Pray for the salvation of Florin, Alexandru and Cosmin…three thieves I will tell about the cross.

WARM TRACTS IN COLD HANDS
In photo #139.03 you can see our Saturday tract crew eager to accomplish our goal of a tract for every dwelling in Brasov…with a population of 350,000. This was a cold day last Saturday. We have already covered a good portion of the city with some calls of inquiry and some visitors coming as a result of this ministry. Praise the good Lord.

Photos #139.04 and #139.05 are scenes from my new home. This is what we have to look at everyday. Sure beats Kansas.

Photos #139.06 and #139.07 were taken in the NW corner of Romania just two weeks ago. And you have to guess whether photo #139.08 was taken at sunrise or sunset…please send your answer in the form of a reply to this report so we know whether there is any real persons out there in cyberspace.
