SWAT REPORT # 120 01-12-09

Gen 8:22 While the earth remaineth, seedtime and harvest, and cold and heat, and summer and winter, and day and night shall not cease.

GLOBAL FREEZING

I feel it is part of my duty to calm your fears concerning global warming. I just read on the Drudge Report that science (falsely so-called) is now warning that the earth is on the brink of entering into another ice age. We only had maybe 15 mild winters…enough to scare Bible rejecting scientists into buying Al Gores latest bunk…then in the middle of a normal winter of cold…and before I had time to grow my fingernails back…they warn of the next 100,000 years of ice age.

Well, I say with the apostle Paul… "I believe God…" and I believe He will keep His word as He stated above.

With that in mind, let us be the faithful witness as we should be even in the cold. In photo #120.01 Johnny and Rueben (two of our young people) are faithful even in very sub-freezing weather. Door to door is complicated here even in the best of weather but we trust the Lord will honor our feeble efforts.

We are also faithful to minister on the streets. We had 7 men and three ladies out on a quite chilly street meeting singing songs and 5 of these young men preached. It is difficult to get a good photo of the street meetings when they take place in the dark. I rejoice greatly for 5 men, not including me, who will preach without prompting…I know many, many churches in USA who cannot boast of this.

GUESS WHO CAME TO CHURCH YESTERDAY

Jas 2:1 My brethren, have not the faith of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Lord of glory, with respect of persons.

Photos #120.02, 120.03 record that Mr. C kept his promise and came to church. This Mr. C (just pray for him under this name…you would have trouble pronouncing it if I spelled it out anyway) is the man who gave us the property and the building. He said he was going to come but you know how that usually goes. He came to SS, AM and then back for PM church. We still do not know about his salvation. He was a normal attendee in the church…the liberty we enjoy and the joy we express seemed to be awkward to him as it is to most in eastern Europe. Maybe because of a very severe poverty and trouble in the past this society thinks of church and somber or sober in the same context. But after a lively Bible drill with candy bars tossed to the winners, he saw that liberty and joy were the norm among us and he loosened up a little. Please pray for his salvation or growth in the Lord. We treated Mr. C with respect but with reverence to the verse above.

Notice in photo #120.04 how many precious young folk the good Lord has blessed us with. Some of these are serious about the things of the Lord and others are on the fringe. Pray that they all "get in" and stick for the Lord and His ministry.
