SWAT REPORT # 111   08-10-08
Act 27:30  And as the shipmen were about to flee out of the ship, when they
had let down the boat into the sea, under colour as though they would have
cast anchors out of the foreship,
Act 27:31  Paul said to the centurion and to the soldiers, Except these
abide in the ship, ye cannot be saved.
Act 27:32  Then the soldiers cut off the ropes of the boat, and let her fall
off.
Act 27:33  And while the day was coming on, Paul besought them all to take
meat, saying, This day is the fourteenth day that ye have tarried and
continued fasting, having taken nothing.
Act 27:34  Wherefore I pray you to take some meat: for this is for your
health: for there shall not an hair fall from the head of any of you.
Act 27:35  And when he had thus spoken, he took bread, and gave thanks to
God in presence of them all: and when he had broken it, he began to eat.
Act 27:36  Then were they all of good cheer, and they also took some meat.
Act 27:37  And we were in all in the ship two hundred threescore and sixteen
souls.
Why such a large portion of scripture? Some of you may not have read your
Bible today.no, it is a good lesson and this much is necessary for the
lesson.

FAITHFUL IN GOOD TIMES AND BAD
Earlier in Acts 27 Paul gave sound advice but was not taken seriously.
There was no storm.  Everyone had their personal high hopes.  But when the
storm came and Paul was faithful and steadfast in the midst of the storm,
Paul gave advice in the text above that was contrary to all good worldly
sense. He told them to abandon the lifeboats and stay with the
ship.PREEEEAAACH.  But now his advice was heeded and his testimony was taken
seriously.  Why? Because their hopes were all blown away in the storm (Acts
27:20 ".all hope that we should be saved was then taken away."  Paul had
been faithful and steadfast in his God through the storm and now he provided
the only remaining hope.the good Lord.  The application is obvious.all my
readers as well as myself have been able to be faithful for the entire
duration of our lives but the stormy times may be looming ahead and this
passage is meant to be an encouragement to be steady at the wheel as we may
be entering some dark clouds.

BURIED AND RISEN WITH HIM
We had another baptism.  In photos #111.o1, 02, 03 you may enjoy their
excitement.  Danutz is showing marked thrill at following the Lord. His
sister Rodica is catching her breath and Lydia Logan is tenderly counseled
by dad just before the dunking.  The whole church turns out for this and it
has become a grand and wonderful outing for the church.  Probably the cold
watermelon fest that follows doesn't hurt the attendance any.

THREE TEENS TRACT
Anytime you can get a teen to read through a tract today is a great
spiritual accomplishment.  In photo #111.04 three of them devour their
tracts as if they were hot bread. Praise the Lord.
In photo 111.05, 06 I preached with Johnny interpreting on the authority of
the Bible while Cornel draws in the background.lots of people took photos
and videos of this event.  Isa 55:11  So shall my word be that goeth forth
out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish
that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.
In # 111.06 you can catch a glimpse of Robin to the right of the drawing
board.

CAMP-RAPPELLING, GERMANY-HOLLAND, FRIENDS, THE HIDING PLACE
We were out of the country for a couple of weeks preaching in Germany and
Holland.  I was honored to preach a church camp along with an old friend
Larry Theophanopolis.  Tom Castellaw and his church and other good friends
were present.  All went well and many challenges went forth for the gathered
saints.  Much fun was also enjoyed with games, walks, fellowship, and
rappelling.  In photo #111.07 Mary is being harnessed to rappel down a 30
ft. wall in training for the 100 ft cliff she eventually conquered.

THE HIDING PLACE
We took our good friends and fellow missionaries, the Troy Green family with
us to Haarlem, Holland to take a tour of Corrie Ten Boom's house. For those
unfamiliar with this true history, this Christian lady hid Jews from the
Nazis in WWII and suffered in a concentration camp for her "crime."  She
survived the camp and traveled the world giving her Christian testimony.
She wrote several books and one was made a movie. "The Hiding Place."  Her
15th century home is a landmark and the free tours include an uncompromising
Christian witness.  Photo # 111.08 shows Mary in the hiding place.a false
wall where the Jews hid.the wall was never found by the Nazis.  Photo
#111.09 is Mackey Isbell in the hiding place. He is the oldest son of Tim
Isbell, missionary to Ukraine.  Mackey made the trip to camp, Germany and
Holland with us.

GOOD FRIENDS
Beside all the fun of camp and fellowship with good friends I was able to
preach on the streets of Aachan, Germany, and Maastrict, Holland with Troy
Green.  We also spent the night in the home of a very unusual entity..In
photo # 111.10 Rudigar Hemmer and his wife Sabina are German nationals who
have been faithful to preach the gospel for many years.  Rudy has a small
church on the outskirts of Nurenburg and has been a faithful witness for
many years.we are privileged to call them "Our Friends."

We are back in our foxhole on the eastern front and plan to be faithful if
the dark clouds start rolling in.  Why not join us in this conviction.

Love to hear back from you either email or phone 850-390-4003 this is a
Pensacola, Fl number that rings in Romania.7 hours ahead of eastern standard
time..costs you only a call to FL.
