37:25 I have been young, and now am old; yet have I not seen the righteous
forsaken, nor his seed begging bread.
The beggars in Romania are fading from the scene as seeming prosperity sweeps toward the east. There are always doubtful beggars as an element of any culture victimized by the ravages communism but the man in photo #108.01 is anything but doubtful. With the passing of beggars also passes the spiritual beggars. Few are holding out their hands for salvation in these days of bread-aplenty. We also see less carutsas (horse-drawn Gypsy wagons) and many more Land Rovers, BMW’s, and even Bentley’s. We are glad life is more physically comfortable for these people but we are sad for the serious lack of interest in the comfort of the life beyond the grave.
Adrian, one of our preacher boy’s in our Bible institute, requested he be given the opportunity to preach on the street while Cornel draws an illustration of his sermon. He is preaching in the foreground of photo 108.02 and the drawing is nearly finished in photo 108.03. This was a great street meeting with many people observing both the preaching and the drawing. Tracts were distributed and read…photo 108.04 and 108.05.
Transylvania University is in our town of 400,000 and the U has a student body which numbers 17,000. The good Lord has been gracious to let us tap into this pool of souls. Friday night we had 18 first-time students come to our fellowship along with nearly a dozen of our regulars. In photo 108.06 they enjoy volley ball. In photo 108.07 they enjoy food. In photo 108.08 they enjoy song and sermon. Although we had no glorious conversions this evening we are hopeful for the future and our regular students have a better platform upon which to reach their souls.
All in all, we had a great week of ministry over here on the eastern end of prosperity.
