Ecc 11:1  Cast thy bread upon the waters: for thou shalt find it after many days.

Isa 55:11  So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.

2Co 6:8  By honour and dishonour, by evil report and good report: as deceivers, and yet true;

 CLANDESTINE MINISTRIES

Passive, non-confrontational, behind the scenes ministries

All of the versed above would seem to promise that anytime anyone puts out the incorruptible Word of the Lord that it is always profitable and productive.   I have heard arguments that tracts should only be on nice, attractive paper…also that those ministering should always wear a suit, or at least white shirt and tie…that tracts left in public restrooms are a disgrace to the gospel…or you should always carry a big Bible very ostentatiously when doing door to door.  Certainly, there are “better” ways and means for evangelism but I believe you should do what you can when you can…spend your time doing it rather than debating how it should be done.

I certainly believe in publick ministry and the more publick the better it is.  I truly believe in face to face confrontational witnessing Pr. 28:4.   My heart beats with Paul as he preaches on Mars Hill and with Stephen when he said, “Ye stiffnecked and uncircumcised in heart and ears…”  But I must confess that I also enjoy the clandestine ministry, as I call it.

For years I have used the $20 bill gospel tracts with, what I believe by faith, has been to great profit.  Now I use a similar Euro-tract.   These tracts are not the kind that you pass directly…this is a tact-tract…that is…you just let people find them on their own.  As I walk for exercise in the mornings I have various tract holders scattered throughout the city.  These are graciously provided by the city, tourist bureaus, and private citizens.  There are tourist information stations at all the attractions which consist of a stand a bit taller than myself with a small roof to protect from the elements.  Attractively placed behind Plexiglas is a description and history of the attraction.  The Plexiglas does not adhere flat to the poster and leaves just space enough to stick a  Euro-tract at a jaunty angle.  These constantly need refilling and I enjoy doing it.  In my journey there are many places where one’s eye would fall on a ledge or level space and these call for a fresh Euro-tract everyday.  It does not take much to thrill me anymore and for that I am happy…but I delight in finding an open window, (for the most part they do not have screens over here) and these all beg for Euro-tracts.   Taxis are plentiful here and they line up at certain points and the drivers smoke with windows rolled down…although these tracts are not just for general distribution…these taxi drivers, just sitting and doing nothing greatly welcome a smile and “good news” Euro-tract.

I have heard of ministries that put tracts in bottles and corked them and put them out in open water…others put tracts in gas balloons…Others rent planes and drop them on events…It doesn’t matter to me…just put out the Word of God and wait till heaven to get paid.

If you would care to see my partner Brent Logan preaching and Cornel our church artist drawing his sermon…all done last Friday on the streets of Brasov…just click on the link at the bottom of this report.  If you look close at the video you can see most of our publick ministry crew working the passersby and if you stay to the end you will see the completed drawing.

The following is a complaint that came in to me this morning via email…and connected is my reply…

Subject: fake twenties

It is not nice to leave fake twenty dollar bills as a tip for hard working restaurant staff.  Waiters and waitresses are not money grubbers.  They are real people who do honest work for YOU!  Maybe you are unaware of how the industry works, so I will tell you.   Waitstaff is only paid $2.83 per hour.  At the end of each  shift each waiter/waitress gives a portion (usually25%)of said tips to the bar staff, the busser staff, a foodrunner and in some cases the hostess.  Therefore, by leaving fake money to your server, it has just cost your waiter or waitress money to wait on you.  The government also must be paid and takes it upon themselves to project how much you have made according to your sales.  The $2.83 an hour does not usually cover it.  we always owe taxes.    Just something for you all to think about:  What would YOUR mortgage company do if you sent them 100 of your fake, yet inspirational, twenties?  Mine would probably proceed with foreclosure.

P.S. The proper tip percentage is 20% of your bill for good service, if that is not acceptable to you, then do not eat at table service restaurants.  Thank you!

Dear Sir/Maam

Although I personally do not leave the $20 tract as a tip in a restaurant and recommend that others follow this lead, I must claim some responsibility for your disturbance in that I created this avenue of evangelism.  I am truly sorry for any disturbance of your peace in this matter.  Please accept my sincere apology but please do consider the following truths.

First of all, the twenties are instantly and easily discerned to be what they genuinely are…that being actually of more value than money.  This being true they could not possible be added to the sum of the tips by anyone of any intellect so that they could not, in fact, distract from the personal income of wait-personnel.  Only a person who has a “love of money” (1Tim.6:10) more than a love of God could twist the situation into something that actually cost the person something.

Then consider the low estate of all of humanity, not simply the position of being a wait-person.  Life is full of trouble “Job 5:7  Yet man is born unto trouble, as the sparks fly upward.”  Life is hopeless Eph 2:12  That at that time ye were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope, and without God in the world:  And the only thing that pays in life is sin…and the wages of sin are very low  Rom 6:23  For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.  At the end of this meager, hopeless, low paying, existence, the person who labored for money, himself, pleasure, comfort, or simply the necessities of life must spend eternity in hell……………………………………………………. Rev 21:8  But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.
Joh 8:21  Then said Jesus again unto them, I go my way, and ye shall seek me, and shall die in your sins: whither I go, ye cannot come.

UNLESS…………………………………………….. Someone gives them the GIFT OF GOD which is the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ.  If and when someone gives you that gift, if you receive it you can live the abundant life the Lord has for anyone who will trust His son and enjoy the blessings of the Lord.  This person thrives in the position of being a servant   to the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords and all their needs are supplied and the payment and retirement programs are out of this world.

This is what was attempted to be given to a wait-person but their heart was not currently willing to receive it…if you want more information I can supply it for you FREELY.
