SWAT REPORT # 86 06-27-07

Mark 1:38 And he said unto them, Let us go into the next towns, that I may preach there also: for therefore came I forth.

WHY DID JESUS COME…WHY DID HE LEAVE US HERE The Bible clearly tells us that He came to preach in the towns and villages. It also clearly tells us to follow His example, Act 8:25 And they, when they had testified and preached the word of the Lord, returned to Jerusalem, and preached the gospel in many villages of the Samaritans. And not to neglect the great commission in Matt. 28:19-20

THE VILLAGE OF CUCIULATA… (pronounced Coo-choo-lata) Where is that??? In southern Columbia, Peru, India, Turmenistan… no…it is a remote village in Romania a bit more than an hour from Brasov and just across the street a ways (10 miles) from Racos. Surely, by now you know where Racos is. How did we ever find this place and why did we go there? We kept receiving phone calls from a man in that village who had heard of us from another man in another remote village. He heard that we would come and preach the gospel and he wanted that done in his village and among his own people. We went to obey our Master…to follow his example…and to carry on the tradition of our forefathers in Acts 8:25 as stated above. What happened??? In photo #8602 you see that a number gathered (about 73) and I played the accordion, we all sang, Bro. Logan preached, (photo #8603) Cornel interpreted, we passed to all a NT (photo 8604) and enjoyed some fellowship. (in photo 8605 notice the goat in the foreground and the old goat between the two young rams in the background) Many of these folk have a Pentecostal background and when it comes time to pray they hit the dirt in a convincing repentance so it is difficult to tell what happened in their hearts. I agree with Paul when he said, Phi 1:18 What then? notwithstanding, every way, whether in pretence, or in truth, Christ is preached; and I therein do rejoice, yea, and will rejoice.

ANOTHER STREET PREACHER In photo 8601 you see Sergiu preaching for the first time. His wife Anny with their first child, yet unborn is passing tracts. It is always a blessed street meeting when the Romanians preach. Cornel is just behind Sergiu…Mary, Cornel's wife, is first to the left in front of Sergiu, her brother, Mihai is left of her, and Mary Bethany is far left. Sergiu and Anny are the latest family to join us…and we are quite glad to have them. Sergiu graduated from Bible College this past month in another part of Romania. He chose to move back to his hometown near Brasov so that he could be a part of our ministry…what a blessing of the Lord. They had Sergiu Jr. just 6 days ago…almost in my van on the way to the hospital…it is so exciting to see the Lord adding to our ministry.

PUBLISHING THE WORD OF GOD In photo # 8606 you see an aerial view of a man reading the Euro tract which I enjoy distributing. Here is the story. I had business in Bucharest and had to spend the night with a friend and former church member in his 4th floor Apt. I parked my van directly beneath the apartment on the street. In the morning there was a work crew taking a break, sitting on the curb in the shade of my van. I took a Euro tract and folded it twice more and deftly dropped it beside the man reading it. He never looked up but heard the tract hit the ground and grabbed it and read it and passed it to his co-workers…serving the Lord sure is a lot of fun. Maybe the Lord will use this photo in his slide show in heaven…wouldn't that be great.

A SIGHT FOR SORE EYES When possible, I like to show you what we have to look at all the time. The beauty of His creation sure balances out the sin of our creation…enjoy photo #8607. This was taken about 20 minutes from my house while taking Sergiu and his family home after church.
