SWAT REPORT # 74 12-26-06

Rom 14:5 One man esteemeth one day above another: another esteemeth every day alike. Let every man be fully persuaded in his own mind. Rom 14:6 He that regardeth the day, regardeth it unto the Lord; and he that regardeth not the day, to the Lord he doth not regard it.

This year we sang the great hymns of the faith on the subject of the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ with much gusto nearly the entire month of December. We sang them inside the church as well as outside on the street. We spoke and preached freely on the first coming of our Saviour and used this special time of the year to gain the attention of the world concerning the Truth. The blessings of the Lord shown upon all in the church as they remembered that, had He not been born in a manger He could not have died upon the cross and risen to produce our salvation.

In photo # 7401 7402 our group in the village of Budila parade through the streets singing with joy in their hearts about the coming of the faithful and the gloooooooooooooooooooooooooooiou\sness of the night in which God became a man. In photo 7403 7404 we gathered at intersections and on a bridge in order to minister to those who gathered to experience with us such a unique and joyous event in their community.

In photo 7405 Moses, one of our men in our ministry there preaches within 30 yards of his own home to the many people gathered. All of these knew him as a drunk and now he reminds them of what the man born in a manger has done for him and can do for them. He could call them all by their first names and tell you how many grandchildren they have or point to where their grandparents live.

In photo 7406 Chuck Zander takes full advantage of the crowd, which at any other time of the year would have ignored us with great disdain, to preach of the Redeemer who came into the world to save sinners. I preached at another gathering upon the different spirits available this time of the year…some come in bottles and others garbed in "flesh and world" but the Spirit of the Lord is to be much desired. Some heard above their own song of fools inspired by the spirit in the bottle.

The joy was so evident this year that it was expressed by the whole church coming to my home for their own caroling. This was a most delightful surprise (see photo 7407) as my family and some of the Zander family viewed and heard the fruit of our labor here in Brasov for more than two years now.

Pray that the next few weeks will be filled with wise decisions as Chuck Zander, his sons Adam and Aaron make their final plans for their assault upon Romania and particularly the village of Racos and its neighboring villages. The Chris Smith family are also coming Jan. 1 for their second visit and to seek the Lord's will concerning their future.

We are truly excited at the opportunities 2007 (that is hard to type) will afford us…on New Year's eve our entire church will be ministering on the square in this city as these dear citizens celebrate no only the coming of the new year but their official entrance into the European Union. This may be hard for you to understand but this is viewed as a GIANT step forward for this country on the eastern front. Materialism is coming in like a blitz. Construction, new stores, housing developments are everywhere. The direction is up materially which always results in a downward direction spiritually. Pray we may be able to influence this people for the things of the Lord.
