SWAT REPORT # 67 10-10-06

Joh 9:24 Then again called they the man that was blind, and said unto him, Give God the praise: we know that this man is a sinner.

Joh 9:25 He answered and said, Whether he be a sinner or no, I know not: one thing I know, that, whereas I was blind, now I see.

The Bible illustration above has always been to me the simplest example of a publick witness. I chose this text as well as the example of the maniac of Gadarra in Mk. 5 and the woman at the well in John 4 to teach the Bible study a couple of weeks ago in the Gypsy village named Budila. I told them that it should be the normal course of events for a person for whom the Lord has done great things (Mk. 5:19) to go and tell their friends, relatives and neighbors. I emphasized that these three examples had not had an opportunity to read through their Bibles, had not memorized the Roman's Road, had not been to Bible college…neither were ordained, commissioned or even called to preach…they were not members of a local church and had not yet been baptized and yet they were allowed to be used of the Lord in the ministry of evangelism. I admonished them to follow these normal course of events and get into the ministry this week. I gave them a homework assignment to find two people in the next week and simply tell them what great things the Lord had done for them. I told them it doesn't matter whether it is your mother or someone you have never seen before…just do it. Well, several of them did their homework…and two of them did work for extra credit. One of our more mature Gypsy men named Moses is in the middle of the back row of photo # 6701 smiling and waving his hand. Moses got Claudio, who is in the same photo but to the extreme left…his face is turned some, and they went to a hillside in their village and began to tell their friends, relatives and neighbors for several generations what great things the Lord hath done for them. GLORRRRRRRRYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!!!

You know how that makes me feel. I was not teaching on street preaching…just being a witness…and these guys went all the way to home plate with it. They were mocked and jeered but finished their testimony of former drunkenness and general sin and how they were now new creatures in Christ. Well, sometimes these simpler people are wiser than many Bible college students and graduates that I know.

Our van is FULL on Sunday morning bringing sometimes 19-20 in a 9 passenger van…the teen guys stand up in the back in the space between the last seat and the back door…it is a good space and about 5-6 guys can stand up and hang onto the last seat…but as we travel to the church we always pass some police and I shout "Jos" pronounced "Zhoss"…and they squat down…then when the treat is past I shout "Soose" and they get back up. But this past week two of our regular men could not get into the van…and very sadly turned back home. The week before I watched 5 boys who could not fit into the van wiping tears from their eyes and turn back toward another monotonous day in the village.

We had a SS contest for kids to memorize scripture…quite a bit of scripture…and Pastor Logan would take them to MacDonalds. Wow…did they work…photos #6703, 6704, 6705 show the winners enjoying themselves and digesting the fruit of their labor. Some had NEVER been to Mac's…Big Whoop…but is was for them. In photo 6706 we caught pastor trying to eat everybody's dessert. He repented just in time.

Pray for our battle with the police…we have hired what seems to be a very strong attorney and he is taking the proper legal action to eliminate this grievous problem. Pray for Daniel Gruia.

I am away for a few days teaching at a Bible College about 6 hours north of our home…will return later this week.

To all our supporters…be sure and look for the special DVD that will come in the mail hopefully later this month…thank you for your faithful support.
