INSTITUTE FOR BIBLICAL MINISTRIES

IBMP

PURPOSE AND GOALS

This institute is dedicated to committing Bible knowledge, ministry and ministry-related knowledge to faithful men and women in the hope that they will, in turn mix this knowledge with godly wisdom and zeal in order to commit the same to other faithful men and women.

2Ti 2:2 And the things that thou hast heard of me among many witnesses, the same commit thou to faithful men, who shall be able to teach others also.

Our goal is to produce faithful men and women who will finish the course, and who will know their Bible well enough to successfully contend with the world, the flesh, and the devil and will be able to convince the gainsayers.

Tit 1:9 Holding fast the faithful word as he hath been taught, that he may be able by sound doctrine both to exhort and to convince the gainsayers.

Our goal is that those faithful man who complete all courses may feel sufficiently secure and confident in knowledge and experience to enable them to minister the whole counsel of God under all circumstances.

1Pe 3:15 But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear:

Our goal is to produce faithful ministers of the Word of God and instill in them both by example and knowledge of the Bible, the zeal, and confidence necessary to accomplish any task the good Lord may set before them.

Col 4:17 …Take heed to the ministry which thou hast received in the Lord, that thou fulfil it.

DOCTRINAL STATEMENT

WE BELIEVE…

…IN THE VERBAL INSPIRATION AND SOLE AUTHORITY OF THE 66 BOOKS OF THE BIBLE, PRESERVED WITHOUT ERROR IN THE AUTHORIZED KING JAMES VERSION.

…THAT THERE IS ONE TRUE AND LIVING GOD, EXISTING IN THREE PERSONS: GOD THE FATHER, GOD THE SON, AND GOD THE HOLY SPIRIT.

…IN THE DIETY AND VIRGIN BIRTH OF JESUS CHRIST, THE SON OF GOD. WE BELIEVE IN HIS BLOODY DEATH ON THE CROSS, HIS BURIAL AND HIS BODILY RESURRECTION AND ASCENSION BACK TO HEAVEN.

…IN THE PERSON AND WORK OF THE HOLY SPIRIT, WHICH INCLUDED: CONVICTION OF SIN, REGENERATION OF SINNERS, AND INDWELLING OF ALL BELIEVERS. WE ALSO STAND AGAINST THE CHARISMATIC PERVERSION OF THE HOLY GHOST AND HIS GIFTS.

…ALL MEN ARE BORN SINNERS AND CAN ONLY BE SAVED WHEN CHRIST IS RECEIVED AS PERSONAL SAVIOUR. THEREFORE, SALVATION IS ONLY "BY GRACE", THE CONDITIONS TO SALVATION BEING REPENTANCE AND FAITH. THUS, ETERNAL LIFE IS A GIFT OF GOD NOT OF WORKS.

…IN THE ETERNAL SALVATION OF THE BELIEVER, AND THAT THIS ETERNAL LIFE CANNOT BE LOST UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCE IN THIS CHURCH AGE. WE FURTHER BELIEVE THAT EACH CHRISTIAN HAS A RESPONSIBILITY TO LIVE A HOLY LIFE AND NOT FULFILL THE LUSTS OF THE FLESH.

…IN THE IMMERSION OF THE BELIEVER IN WATER TO SIGNIFY CHRIST’S DEATH, BURIAL AND RESURRECTION AND THE BELIEVER’S INDENTIFICATION WITH SUCH AS A TESTIMONY OF SALVATION. WE DO NOT BELIEVE THAT WATER BAPTISM SAVES OR WASHES AWAY SIN, SINCE ONLY FAITH IN THE BLOOD OF CHRIST IS EFFECTIVE FOR SUCH WITHOUT WORKS.

…THAT A LOCAL NEW TESTAMENT CHURCH IS A GROUP OF BAPTIZED BELIEVERS, UNITED FOR THE PURPOSE TO LEARN AND SPREAD THE WORD OF GOD, INCLUDING WORLD-WIDE MISSIONS. WE BELIEVE THE CHURCH IS COMPLETELY INDEPENDENT WITH NO OTHER PERSON, GROUP, OR BODY HAVING THE AUTHORITY, RIGHT OF INTERVENTION OR CONTROL WHATSOEVER OF HER AFFAIRS. WE FURTHERMORE STAND AGAINST THE ECUMENICAL MOVEMENT.

…IN THE VISIBLE, PERSONAL, PREMILLENNIAL AND PRETRIBULATIONAL RETURN OF JESUS CHRIST FOR HIS SAINTS, WHICH INCLUDES THE BODILY RESURRECTION OF THE SAVED DEAD WITH THE CATCHING AWAY OF THE LIVING SAVED IN THE CLOUDS. WE FURTHER BELIEVE IN A LITERAL 1,000 YEAR REIGN OF JESUS CHRIST UPON THE EARTH, AND THE EVERLASTING CONSCIOUS BLESSEDNESS OF THE SAVED AND THE EVERLASTING CONSCIOUS PUNISHMENT OF THE LOST IN HELL AND ULTIMATELY THE LAKE OF FIRE FOREVER.

This institute is designed as a two-year course of study. Following is a description of the courses offered. All courses are required by all full time students in order to qualify for graduation. Individual courses may be audited at personal convenience. The Ministry courses are designed for full time male students only. Women will be offered courses appropriate for Holy Women.

First Year

Theology 101 (1 semester)

Php 3:10 That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection,

and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death;

Websters 1828 dictionary defines Theology as… "The science of God and divine things; or the science which teaches the existence, character and attributes of God, his laws and government, the doctrines we are to believe, and the duties we are to practice. Theology consists of two branches, natural and revealed. Natural theology is the knowledge we have of God from his works, by the light of nature and reason. Revealed theology is that which is to be learned only from revelation."

This is a foundational theology course designed to ground the student

in their basic knowledge of God.

Old Testament Survey (2 semester)

2Ti 3:15 And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.

This will be an overview of the entire Old Testament that will give the student a complete grasp of the 39 books which comprise the O.T. This course will include a study of the geography of the O.T. as well as the basic structure, origin and author of each book.

New Testament Survey (2 semesters)

2Ti 2:15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

This course will contain the same study as O.T. survey but in the N.T.

Genesis (2 semesters, 2 hours per week totaling at least 64 hours study)

Luk 16:31 And he said unto him, If they hear not Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded, though one rose from the dead.

This will be an in depth, verse by verse study of the first book of the Bible. We believe that if a student can be grounded and feel comfortable with the book of Genesis, and specifically the first three chapters he will be able to avoid much confusion in his later study.

Life of Christ from the Gospel of John. (1 semester)

2Co 5:16 Wherefore henceforth know we no man after the flesh: yea, though we have known Christ after the flesh, yet now henceforth know we him no more.

This is a complete study of the life of Christ based upon the Gospel of John but also inserting incidents from Matthew, Mark and Luke as necessary.

The Ministry (this course is required by all male students all semesters)

Col 4:17 …Take heed to the ministry which thou hast received in the Lord, that thou fulfil it.

Because this institute is primarily designed to produce ministers this is a complete course intended to fully equip all ministers for all ministries.

--Preparation and delivery of Sermons

--Ministry ethics

--Missions

--Counseling and living peaceably with all men

--Publick ministry in all of its many facets

--Personal evangelism and witnessing

--Publick preaching and voice projection

--House to house

--Standing against sin in the community

--Local Church

--Bible doctrine of the church

--Operation and finances of the local church

--Personal finances

--Marriage and family relations

--Prayer and personal relationship with the Lord

--Study of the Holy Spirit

--Other related subjects

Doctrines and cults (2 semesters)

1Ti 4:6 If thou put the brethren in remembrance of these things, thou shalt be a good minister of Jesus Christ, nourished up in the words of faith and of good doctrine, whereunto thou hast attained.

The Bible stresses the study of correct doctrine as a basic skeletal structure for every Christian.

Proper Christian Music (1 semester)

1Co 14:40 Let all things be done decently and in order.

We all are painfully aware of how the devil is busy at work using the wrong music to subtly erode and destroy the church in our age. The title of this course is self explanatory.

--Music appreciation

--Evangelistic song leading

--Choosing and learning the instrument of your choice

--Voice projection and proper use of the voice

SECOND YEAR

History of the Jews (1 semester)

Gen 12:3 And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed.

We believe that a proper understanding of the place of the Jew in the past, at present, and in the future is the key to gaining the blessings of the Lord and not being deceived by the abundant anti-Semitic propaganda.

Acts and Romans (2 semesters, 2 hours per week totaling at least 64 hours)

Heb 5:14 But strong meat belongeth to them that are of full age, even those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil.

This is an in depth verse by verse study in these vital books. If a Christian can feel comfortable in this section of the NT he will be able to keep his footing any other place. This course will also include all other Pauline doctrines of the NT.

Living by faith (1 semester)

Luk 18:8 …Nevertheless when the Son of man cometh, shall he find faith on the earth?

Heb 11:6 But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

The Laodicean times that we live in war against pleasing God by living by faith and we believe this subject is vital to a servant of the Lord.

The Ministry (a continuation of this subject from the first year)

Dispensations and rightly dividing the Bible (1 semester)

2Ti 2:15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

This course fills in the gaps that may develop from OT and NT survey courses and gives the student a comfortable understanding of his entire Bible.

Manuscript Evidence (2 semesters)

1Th 5:21 Prove all things; hold fast that which is good.

A student needs not only to know that the King James Version of the Bible is the perfectly preserved Word of God…he needs to know why.

Christian History (1 semester)

Heb 12:1 Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us,

Because of the vastness of this subject we will teach only this survey course. We do not seek to produce scholars in this field but it is productive to know about those who fought the battles before you and to learn from their ensample.

Ministry Maintenance Training (1 semester or more)

Act 18:3 And because he was of the same craft, he abode with them, and wrought: for by their occupation they were tentmakers.

This course is not mandatory to graduate but it is highly recommended.

A student will choose a trade or occupation he would like to learn in case at some stage of his ministry he needs to provide the necessary provisions for himself and his family. We will bring in a person who can teach them this trade to a point where they are qualified to work.

A man who proves himself faithful and fulfills all courses offered with satisfactory grade levels will be awarded an "Associate of Theology" degree upon graduation.

STUDENTS

All students must be interviewed personally by Dr. Sutek.

1Ti 5:22 Lay hands suddenly on no man, neither be partaker of other men's sins: keep thyself pure.

This institution is only interested in mature, serious-minded students who wish to equip themselves throughly. Men and women who are aiming in the direction of the service of the Lord. This way we will determine this is through a personal interview.

All full time students will be expected to participate in all ministries assigned to them.

1Co 16:15 I beseech you, brethren, (ye know the house of Stephanas, that it is the firstfruits of Achaia, and that they have addicted themselves to the ministry of the saints,)

We are training these men and women for the ministry and the best training is by experience.

All students must willingly submit to all the rules of the school with a good attitude.

Heb 13:17 Obey them that have the rule over you, and submit yourselves: for they watch for your souls, as they that must give account, that they may do it with joy, and not with grief: for that is unprofitable for you.

Rules will be made available at the time of the interview.

Room, board, books, and tuition is given freely.

Mat 10:8 … freely ye have received, freely give.

Full time students will be offered housing and board freely (if needed).

If a full time student has family or relatives living within traveling distance of the campus we would expect them to utilize these facilities so that more needy students could make use of the schools facilities. In this case we would help with transportation

Although all of this is offered freely the students will be expected to work on the property for some hours per day as well as participate in all ministries made available to them.

Also consider that the local church that has been blessed to have the good Lord call a student or students into the ministry of our Lord Jesus Christ should desire to support that student in both prayer and finance.
