ONE ELSE COULD…SO HE DID IT
A brief history must be understood before the blessing can be fully
digested. The Logan family and the Sutek
family came to Romania four years ago in Oct. 2004 to do what we could for the Lord in the
short time before the false prosperity and materialism swept across eastern Europe and
also before the rapture. We began a church in
a home but within 8 weeks we had rented a store front building for a decent price. We paid rent until our contract expired in Aug. of
2007. The new contract doubled the rent and
put it far out of range for our budget. In
anticipation of this we renovated a cow barn on the Logan’s property (they also rent)
and made it a beautiful church. I would give
$100 dollars to have some “before” photos of that cow barn. You just would not
believe it. It is more than sufficient for us
but………………….it is out of the city. We have virtually not grown since we moved out
there. It is just not at all convenient. Via our vans we have been able to maintain our
membership and attendance but we have prayed and asked for property of some kind which we
can own inside the city of Brasov. Many of you have also prayed for this. But this became increasingly more IMPOSSIBLE. The prices of real estate have become some of the
highest in any country in the world. We
prayed on and some of you prayed on. God
specialized in the IMPOSSIBLE.
God chose to move upon the heart of a very rich man in Brasov
to give us a building on a bit more than an acre of prime property. Although we have not had proper opportunity to
clearly witness to this man we do fully intend to. At present he is a Pentecostal. This is
probably the second most common church affiliation here following eastern Orthodox. This
building, though quite rough at present, can and will be renovated into our new church. If the good Lord can use us to turn a cow barn
into a nice church…the Lord can do it for us again.

This building is ideally located for our ministry and we intend to make the most of it as
soon as possible.

We continue with our regular evangelism through the fall and
into the winter. With Romania joining the EU
and materialism flooding the region, this ministry continues to get more and more
difficult. We have 17,000 college students on
our city and that seems to be the most fruitful of fields available to us. Many in our
church spend whole evenings in the dorms visiting and evangelizing. We have a very high
quality group of 6-8 college students in our church and four of these are in our Bible
institute. We praise the Lord for the
opportunity to advance these serious students of the Word of God in the truths of that
great book. With this new building it should only enhance these opportunities.
We are all well and looking forward to the opportunities the
future will afford us to serve our great King of Kings and Lord of Lords…the Lord
Jesus Christ.
