January-February 2006
Newsletter
This month shall be unto you the beginning of months:
it shall be the first month of the year to you.
Exodus 12:2
We are always glad for the opportunities a new year provides, but thank the good Lord we dont have to begin at the beginning every new year. I am grateful for the work that was done last year in our ministry upon which we can begin to build the Lords superstructure. In my last letter I reviewed what had been accomplished in the first year of our ministry here in Romania. 2006 proves to be a tremendous year of growth for our ministry, but we still pray Even so come Lord Jesus.
Many photos of our ministry in Racos village have been sent via the SWAT REPORTS and all are archived on www.streetpreaching.com. The attendance at our open air meetings in Racos has held very good through the winter. We have observed several hearts of the folk both in Racos as well as Brasov as they respond to the gospel by kneeling in the snow to call upon the name of the Lord. We blitzed the entire village with Christmas carols and preaching on Christmas eve. It all ended with a Christian snowball fight. I believe the Lord has put His approval upon these people and judged them worthy of their own local church. The Lord has provided the finances necessary to purchase a fine building and property in an ideal location in Racos. This transaction should be completed before you receive this letter. Some of Bro. Logans supporters along with some of our supporters have made this possible through private contributions, not even solicited, and for this we all praise the Lord. The property will be able to be used immediately for a church and living quarters for a caretaker and future pastor. It also has good property whereupon we can build in the future. This is one giant step forward in our ministry.
AN EVEN DOZEN
We now have twelve men in our church of 45 who preach publickly. We will be training most of these beginning the first Saturday in March in our East European Bible Institute. This will be a concentrated study designed to quickly prepare a man for many areas of the ministry.
In January I
had an opportunity I prize very highly. I was
allowed to teach publick ministry during a missionary fellowship in Germany. For more than three decades this has been the high
point in my ministry. The challenges of publick ministry were received well by a group of
preachers who, in the past, have not made this a priority in their ministries but I hope
that will change for many of them. I was
greatly honored when Dr. Bob Gray walked into my classroom and took a seat while I was
teaching. He will be 80 this coming May and
that month will also mark 60 years of his preaching.
He was my mentor into the ministry and has been a monumental help through
these many years. I am very privileged to be
able to call him
.My friend.
I am happy to
be able to report that all of us are happy, healthy and honored to be able to live abroad
and be in the mainstream of service for our King, none other than the Lord Jesus Christ. We extend our hearts in sincere appreciation to
those whose support both in prayer and finance make this all possible. We also invite you to come and see the work for
yourselves first hand or to check us out on the web at www.streetpreaching.com or to email us at gsutek@streetpreaching.com or to phone us from the states by simply
dialing 011-40-268-477-243 always keeping in mind that we are 7 hours ahead of EST. That means when it is 5pm in Atlanta
it is
midnight
bedtime over here.
