"For the time will come when they will not endure sound
doctrine;
but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers,
having itching ears;"
2 Timothy 4:3
|
The time of the verse above has
come. America has birthed a generation which can not endure sound doctrine.
They pacify their itching ears with myths and fables and love to have it so.
The preaching of the gospel is an offence to them. They hate us because we
tell them the truth. Should we quit??? GOD FORBID!!! NEVER!!! The truths of
the Bible are the only hope for our nation, its homes and hearts. Recently I
taught publick ministry to a Bible college in Long Is. NY. I told them that there
are two aspects of publick ministry; one is the stoic aspect. That is
grin and
bear it
do it out of sheer obedience
grit your teeth and get the job done.
Many publick ministers suffer through their whole ministry enduring to the end with
only this aspect. If this is the way you feel about P.M. either you probably wont
last very long or you will never enjoy publick ministry. The other aspect is to have
fun with P.M. I contrive many ways in which P.M. can be exciting and actually fun.
Christian young people will not be attracted to the stoic aspect but they will jump
right on the fun part. I encourage singing with a genuine smile and a wave, using
the $20 bill tracts, playing childrens songs to kids on the accordion, making light
comments in response to heavy remarks, even barking at passing dogs in cars and claiming
to preach the gospel to every creature. Just trying to keep it light. As for
myself, I like even the stoic aspect
I like it all, but there should be a balance.
When the publick sees you enjoying yourself and being very friendly, yet strong
toward them, they are quicker to be set at ease instead of being repulsed via fear. |

What
a wonderful time was had by all at the Memphis Beale St. Blast national street preachers
convention. Great attendance, great preaching, great singing and the ministry on the
streets was very good. Many were saved and many made changes in their lives because
of our strong presence. We heard testimonies from many of ours as to backsliders
pouring out their beer, stomping on their dope and heading off Beale St. in the direction
of home and family. PRAISE THE LORD. Ken and Frieda Lansing sure do a
marvelous job hosting this ministry. Pray for Frieda Lansing as she continues to
battle serious illness. Make plans to attend the Blast in 2005. |

After
the Blast we headed quickly to NY state. We enjoyed preaching on the campus of Syracuse
University. I told those brain-dead college students what a shame it would be to
spend the time and dollars they will spend here learning and still never able
to come to the knowledge of the truth. Dom and Kevin Mauro, Mark McLaughlin, Doms
son-in-law Dewey and John Swan were with us. John drew a great chalk drawing on a
board and easel. We also ministered some on Rehoboth Bch., DE. on the
boardwalk. Then I took off and headed west leaving my family to minister to invalid
relatives in DE. John Swan and I preached in Berlin, OH. to the Amish and
Mennonites along with Joe Strausbaugh and family. We then zipped out to Bismark,
ND. Here we introduced a church to P.M. Pastor Spencer Baker and his
church put 41 soldiers on their hometown streets after 9 PM in a cold drizzly rain.
They enjoyed every minute of it and plan to continue. We also preached in Rapid
City, SD. with pastor Paul Erdos. |

Time is moving fast for our moving the SWAT team to
eastern Europe. But, praise the Lord all is
on schedule. I do not foresee any glitches of
any magnitude ahead and we are all excited. Many
of you are concerned about Caroline, she went back to Northern Ireland this past month. Pray the Lord will build upon the foundation we
were able to lay with Caroline. Pray also,
that our motor home will sell at the right time. Anyone
