ARE YOU IN THE PICTURE????
When the
Chamber of Commerce in the city of Deland, Fl. made an animated map to advertise the city
sights and merchants, the publick ministry of James Knoxs church had been so
consistent for so many years that they were included on the map. Our home church too, has been consistent in its
publick ministry in Austin TX. and particularly on the campus of University of Texas. There is a huge wall mural there depicting
pertinent sights and activities on campus. One
of those pertinent sights is a street preacher with Bible in hand and a hallow above his
head. Ask yourself the question, is your
publick ministry so consistent and effective that if you were not active, there would be a
piece of the picture of your community missing? Check
out both of these pictures on my website at www.streetpreaching.com.
ON THE STREETS
We had a
wonderful month on the streets with folk saved and Christians instructed and encouraged. I preached with Pastor Larry Hickam and a good
number of faithful folk from his church on the streets of Amarillo, TX. Praise God for their consistent witness there. We ministered in the tourist community of Gruene,
TX. along with Bear and the Linebaugh family. We
had a big meeting with our college students on the campus of South West Texas University
in San Marcos, TX. Thanks for your prayers on
that. I preached several time in the Big
Apple (NYC) at the ferry dock in Battery Pk. (the best place in the world to preach) and
also the publick library. I strolled through
the park in NYC playing the accordion on a beautiful day with hundreds of folk reading and
relaxing. It was well received. I took the students from International Baptist
College out in two towns on Long Is. NY. They did a wonderful job, several preaching for
the first time. Two genuine bikers were saved
there. They prayed publicly and filled out
cards to come to church. Praise the Lord.

Details,
details, details
and all of them being worked out.
Dont ever take lightly the energy involved in getting a family
established on a foreign mission field. We
are excited and on schedule to be in eastern Europe by October of 2004. We really appreciate your prayers, and support of
our faithful friends as well as several new churches and friends who have taken us on. Thanks to all.
ON THE STREETS
Because of
our settling down, for four months, in our home church in Austin, TX., we do most of our
street meetings here with the college, church, and visiting friends. We have held eleven street meetings in this city
since I wrote my last newsletter on Christmas eve. We
have preached in front of the capitol building, in front of a mall, at a major
intersection, on the campus of University of Texas (the largest campus in U.S.), in the
business district, and in the bar district. We
had many servants out for a New Years Eve street meeting in the bar district. We have a great many of our men who will readily
preach and many others who participate in some form.
We also held street meetings in nearby towns such as Wimberly, TX.,
San Marcos, TX., and Lockhart, TX.
IN THE CHURCHES
We were
privileged to minister in the following churches this past month. Capitol City Bapt., Pastor Hank Thompson, Austin,
TX., Scenic Hills Bapt., Pastor Gary Evans, Austin, TX., Trinity Bapt., Pastor Ron Mills,
Texas City, TX., and Val Verde Bapt., Pastor Brent Stancil, Groves, TX. where a husband
and wife were saved Sun. A.M.
PERSONAL
We enjoy
this respite off the road. We are allowed
four months of normal life
that is, driving a car only, regular services
in our home church, teaching at our Bible College, piano and art lessons for Mary, ladies
fellowship for Robin, college classes for Caroline, and no breakdowns, flat tires, or
sharp curves in our 62 foot motor home and trailer. We
are usually busier in the Kings business during this time than when we are on the
road. Everyone is getting through this winter
reasonably healthy. Hey
you Yankees
do
you believe in global warming? Come
and see us in mild Austin, TX.
We continue to have need of nothing but your prayer...
