(2 Kings 6:21) "And the king of Israel said unto Elisha, when he saw them, My father, shall I smite them? shall I smite them? And he answered, Thou shalt not smite them:… set bread and water before them, that they may eat and drink, and go to their master."

FEED      YOUR      ENEMY

We are preaching in the FREE SPEECH AREA on the campus of South Western Texas University in San Marcos, TX.  A white female approaches and violently and profanely objects to our message and asks if we have a permit (for the free speech area) and what group sponsored us onto the campus.  She demands our identification and that we immediately cease.   She, between profanities, accuses us, “three white guys” of haranguing the students.  She calls the campus police and sits on the fountain to await them.  She and I have an interesting conversation while waiting.   She fills the uncommitted, uninterested security cop with all of her harangue and he suggests we check with the dean’s office.  She threatened to get our tag number in order to trace us so she would not leave our side as we enter the dean’s office.  We all found out that she was wrong on all accounts and now “hell hath no fury like a woman scorned.”  She continues following us to the elevator causing a large fuss all along the way.  Finally, I threatened to call the police (that’s a switch) if she did not leave us at once.  In the midst of the fuss the Dean of Students made himself known and invited all of us into his office for a hearing on the matter.  She quickly filled his ear and we answered his questions.  When he found out she was a student studying to be a reporter, he quickly tried to politically settle the matter but she kept up her vitriolic harangue.  At a critical point I stopped her and invited her to join us for lunch.  I told her where and when and walked out.  She showed up ten minutes later to a completely different scene.  I was a gentleman (believe it or not) and she was a lady.  She asked all the right questions and for forty minutes we poured the Lord’s and our testimonies into her ear. She listened as if all were falling on good ground but to be reaped another day.  Shall I smite them?  No, feed them and neutralize their hatred.  I don’t always love my enemies and treat them to lunch, but maybe it would go better for us if we did.   Pray for us; we are taking the entire college to minister in that same “free speech” area tomorrow.

ON       THE       STREETS

We preached very many times on the streets of Austin, TX.   We enjoyed ministering to a music festival here.  Some of the attendees may not have enjoyed our ministry.  We received some not-so-bad publicity as the conflict between our ministry and the festival heated up. We are still plagued with Leslie whom we mentioned in the January newsletter.  Keep praying.   There is no measuring the full affect of our ministry until we arrive in glory, but I feel very strongly that we quell sin to a considerable degree as we scatter the salt of the Word of God onto a decaying society.   We also ministered on the streets of Liberty, KY. with pastor Mark Lawless and Battlefield Baptist Church.  Thank God for the faithful soldiers who serve in the “Yukon” and “South Pole” regions of  our world.  Those who will hold a banner at the only intersection in their community are to be held in as high esteem as the ones who contend at the sodomite parades and at the Mardi Gras.
