PREACHING TO THE DAMNED AT THE DAM
In these last days it seems as though the broad way is getting broader. I preached in several "broad" ways this month. One unusual place was on top of the Hoover Dam. It is quite a tourist attraction and as we drove over it in the motor home there were, no doubt, many among the multitude that were damned because of their unbelief. I turned on the powerful PA system and preached Jesus unto them for the length of the top of the dam. Shocked! Novel! Offended! Repulsed! Silent Consent! All of the above were the responses of the mixed (up) multitude. Mission completed, I drove off into the desert, but was soon alarmed by a siren and flashing lights. "It is against the law to broadcast over a PA on Federal Property," said the officer. "Ah, don’t get me wrong, I agree with your message………" You know the rest. They won’t let Jesus onto Federal land."Get off the curb, the sidewalk belongs to the casino," said the security rent-a-cop as I preached on the strip in Las Vegas. "These people didn’t come here to hear that…….." You know the rest. They won’t let Jesus on the sidewalk in Las Vegas either. Why not? He was numbered with transgressors, wine bibbers, and Pharisees.
ANSWERING THE CRITICS
We’ve all heard it too many times… "Publick ministry doesn’t get results." I wonder what they do with this one. I know this man.
"My name is Brian Kelly. I ‘m 26 years old and this is my testimony. 6 years ago I was walking down the street near 86th st. and Bay Parkway in Brooklyn, NY. There was a street preacher on the corner named Brian Brady preaching the gospel (1 Cor. 15:3,4) out of a KJ Bible. He handed me a gospel tract from Fellowship Tract League called, "You Have God’s Word On It" and asked me a serious question. If you die tonight, where would you spend eternity, in Heaven or Hell?" I told him Heaven and he asked me why. I told him because I was a good person. He asked me another question. If you can get to Heaven by being a good person then why would Jesus have to die? I had no answer. Then he showed me the Roman’s Road and explained them. I repented of my sin and called on the Lord Jesus Christ, God Almighty to come into my heart and forgive all my sins with his precious blood and I received Him as my personal Saviour. That was 6 years ago. Today I now serve in the Lord’s Army as a full-time street preacher. The Lord has allowed me to street preach in Jacksonville, FL., Pensacola, FL., Mobile, AL., New Orleans, LA., Memphis, TN., Rochester and Syracuse, NY., and all over NYC. The scariest thing about the day I got saved was that I had no idea I was on my way to Hell until I was warned by that street preacher. Who will warn them if you don’t? Bro. ON THE STREETS
We had a delightful time serving the Lord publickly with dear friends Ron and Lisa Knudson and their son and daughter in law Chris and Kathy. We all made a day of it in San Francisco, CA. This has got to be one of the all time best cities to preach in. Chris is a missionary to China and preached in Chinese in Chinatown to Chinese people. I wish I could do that. Bro. Ed Ware and his faithful church are still strong in their publick witness on the streets of Tempe, AZ. We always enjoy serving in that foxhole with that platoon. About 30 of us street preachers put many a Morman to flight in Salt Lake City, UT. during one of their conferences. We saw eight souls saved on the streets during this mini-blitz. During a house-to-house blitz on Vancouver IS, British Columbia, Canada we slipped away from our 16 hours door-to-door work to hold a street meeting in Victoria, the capitol of BC. This work was to help missionary Jay Dempsey start the church the Lord has birthed in the city of Nanaimo in BC.
