"Lift ye up a banner upon the high
mountain, exalt the voice unto them, shake the hand, that they may go into the gates of
the nobles." Isaiah 13:2
MAKE THIS A BANNER YEAR
I have heard a few publick ministers raise some objections to the holding of banners and scripture signs during street meetings. Personally I think they are a very great tool for attracting attention to the gospel. The worldly proverb that says, "One picture is worth a thousand words" is certainly appropriate here. One more angle which is rarely considered would be ministering to the deaf on the street. No one wears a sign indicating they are deaf but you know they are out there. How are they to be ministered unto except for signs and banners? "Hear, ye deaf; and look, ye blind, that ye may see." (Isa 42:18)
ON THE STREETS
In the last newsletter I mentioned "Hemming Park" in Jax., Fl. where Eccl. 10:4 had to be applied once again because of inconsistent publick ministers in the area. The success of this operation proved quite profitable as we were able to have other opportunities to minister in that park along with about five students from Trinity Bapt. College. We pray they will take this PM ball and run with it the rest of their ministerial lives. A large, downtown shopping mall (The Landing) is also a very good place to minister in Jax. and we did so to the noon-time crowd. We took a couple of pastors (Bill Ogle and Nile Stine) out on their local streets in Inverness, FL . This is a great little community to minister in. This was Pastor Stines first time to preach in the open air. We heartily congratulate men who pastor in close proximity to each other and yet manage to minister publickly together. This is a great testimony to the unity of the body of Christ. Charlotte, NC has long been on my list of top ten cities for PM. This year Charlotte keeps its position there. At noon-time there are hoards of business folk to be ministered to and not too bad for traffic noise either. My good friend and preaching buddy Tony Kiker, his son, and a pastor friend Perry Lemmons joined me this day for a grand time of PM. We ministered in the rain for just a brief time in Asheboro, NC with Pastor Tom Cochran and one of his good men. We had one manv get saved on the streets of Allentown, PA. Pastor Farren Mathena and his good church have been consistent there for years. It was a joy to be with Pastor Bill Hanks and his church as they ministered in two places in Baltimore, MD. They have ministered to both the physical and spiritual needs of the business, as well as the homeless communities in their locality for more than four years. Preaching to and feeding the homeless is a difficult but rich ministry if done right.

TODAY=STREETS TOMORROW STAR SEARCH
After singing "How Great Thou Art" and preaching in the "Helping Up Rescue Mission" in Baltimore, MD one of the "inmates" came up to me, shook my hand, looked me in the eyes, and said, "Im going to make a few phone calls and get you on Star Search". So look out all of you who thought I had no talent you may be saying in the future "I knew him when". This was a great compliment.
Pray for us as we learn how to negotiate this new trailer and rig through the traffic of America. It is GREAT . when we are sitting still.
We continue to have need of nothing but your prayer...
