HOUSE TO HOUSE

THEY'RE NOT THE SAME.... BUT MAKE A BALANCE

We had fruit in both of these fields of evangelism this month. My family and I were doing some door to door when a lady asked us in. This was different! Once in, we met her husband who was very congenial even after we revealed our Lord. This was rare! After allowing us time for a full presentation (this was uncommon) they both got on their knees, held hands and prayed the sinners prayer. This was old time salvation! Sunday night Brother and Sister Isaacson aged 50 and 43 came to church. This was a miracle! Praise the Lord.

ON THE STREETS

This was a wild month for publick ministry. We had more than our share of hecklers and police encounters. It all started in HELENA, MT. This city has a great pedestrian-only section. They say that a snake bites the second man in line and on the second consecutive day preaching here the hecklers and police show up. This was a four police car event with the superintendent named Jezuits finally allowing us to continue. We moved on to MISSOULA, MT. where a wierdo walked out onto the street and mumbled something that ended with "HELL" to the top of his voice for the entire time we had the meeting. Was this devils? Who knows; but they sure are getting frequent. We slipped over the border to CANADA so David Laverty could get his 6 month visa stamped and we also preached there so David and Mike (travelling with us for 30 days) could say they had preached in Canada. In COEUR d’ ALENE, ID. we took pastor Steve Andres (different from the San Pedro, CA. guy) and his church on the streets for the first time. All 35 of us had a wonderful time as well as another successful police encounter. We started a normal street meeting in SPOKANE, WA. but when my turn came to preach I spotted an overhead people-walk and moved in under it for a most vibrant sound affect. This greatly enhanced the preaching to the great disturbance of the folks waiting on the bus across the street; not to mention the security guards at the bus station but publick property is publick property. HUH?  In KEYSTONE, SD. at the foot of Mt. Rushmore I announced myself as the town parson, during some cowboy tourist entertainment and preached on "The face who made MT. Rushmore".  DEADWOOD, SD. would like to grow up to be Las Vegas but it is filled with losers.  I quoted "Thou shalt not covet" until the police came, then we talked for an hour and they let David preach but made us take our signs down and then we went home.  Did they win or did we?  In the middle of a successful police encounter in SIOUX FALLS, SD. a lady who ran a "Christian Bookstore" came up to David as I preached and said with biting words, "I suppose you don’t care if I sell any Bibles today".  The angel of light will do anything to dampen the message of the gospel.  We also preached in LEWISTON, MT, RAPID CITY, SD., AND MINNEAPOLIS, MN. "For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness".1 Cor. 1:18

THE GENERAL’S APPRENTICE

Mike Maher spent thirty days of his summer travelling and ministering with our team. Mike is a second year student at Pensacola Bible Institute. He was a real joy to have, a genuine asset to the ministry and a strong publick preacher. He feels the Lord’s leading in the same area of ministry as the SWAT team. We tried our best to discourage him but he just forged on. We had a greater than normal amount of police encounters this month and it seemed like Mike was preaching nearly everytime. He began to feel like he had brought a curse upon us.  For just being two years old in the Lord Mike is a mighty example of 2 Cor. 5:17.  It is evident of him that he loves the Lord and that he loves serving the Lord.

COMPUTER COMPROMISE

After shooting off my mouth for several years about wanting to be the only Baptist preacher to go to heaven never having had a computer, I have fallen victim to the new age.  I know, I know, "Mighty men around us falling".   It does have it’s great advantages and I am carefully avoiding it’s pitfalls.  I would love to have your e-mail address in my address book so when you get a chance please send me a note via e-mail.  My address is gsutek@ix.netcom.com.

The team now has a fine web page with many valuable links. Check us out!
