PAPA BEAR SAVED
Many saints have been praying for the father of Brother Terrell Bear for over thirteen years. I had the great honor of leading Terrell Bear (better known as Bear) to the Lord back in 1985 and he quickly became a disciple. Bear was my partner in the SWAT team for several years. I called Bear from Los Angeles three weeks ago and he told me that his father Theodore 'Ted' as in "Teddy" Bear was in the hospital with sugar diabetes complications. I hadn't seen him in 8 years so I visited him and got to lead Mr. Bear to the Lord. Needless to say Bear was a bit exultant. I told Bear that now I want a shot at his son: three year old Andrew to try for a full three generations. HA!WEST COAST BLITZ II
A grand attendance by some of the Lord's best, 16 souls saved, 100% of attendants greatly encouraged and the host church greatly strengthened ... yea, I'd say we had a good Blitz. A full report will accompany this newsletter along with some photos. Everyone is looking forward and making plans for the 99 Blitz. What will you be doing in dull February of '99?A WORD FROM THE BLITZ HOST
Hosting the 1997 and 1998 National Street Preacher's Conventions at Bible Baptist Church has been a great blessing and privilege. Our people gave sacrificially and yet have received far more in return than they gave. I would urge pastors everywhere to prayerfully consider hosting a local or regional street preacher's convention in the next twelve months. We are already making plans to host the national convention in 1999, and we are excited. CHARGE!

We started the new year out right with a street meeting on Jan. 1 on the streets of Austin, Tx. in the evening hours ... an exciting way to start the new year. In Amarillo, Tx. we gave a hard time to an adult bookstore. This was instruction to the church as to the right way to "contend with them". Las Vegas, NM was in shock at the sound of the gospel on their streets. Tempe, Az. is one of the best places to preach on the street. We've been there several times and this time was just as good. Three souls were saved as the faithful church in San Pedro, Ca joined the team for their regular street meeting. It was novel to hold scripture signs written in Korean (which side is up ?) during a street meeting in Korea town, suburb of L.A., CA. The Korean pastor Bro. Kim who joined us did a very good job preaching to his people in the Korean language ... I guess! I took 30 saints out for their first street meeting in Merced, CA. Twenty five of them were under 17 years of age. Three souls were saved and we survived a police encounter of the first kind. This was all done during a two hour window of dry weather given to us in the middle of El Niņo. David Laverty has joined the journeys of the SWAT team for awhile and he and I preached in China town, in San Francisco, Ca. They looked at street preaching with a different slant.IN THE CHURCHES
